The AgriBusiness Forum is an international business platform organised with the aim of contributing to the sustainable development of the African agro-food sector. Launched in Europe at the beginning of 2000, it was held in a number of European cities with the last two European-based editions being hosted by the FAO in Rome.
Together with our members and partners we then decided to move the forum permanently to Africa, as President Museveni wisely concurred during the AgriBusiness Forum 2010
"If we are talking about agrobusiness, this is the place, Africa is THE place.”
Participants
The Forum takes place annually and attracts over 400 agribusiness leaders and decision makers including private entities, financiers, donors, industrialists, SMEs, researchers, governments, international organisations, NGOs, and others from all over the world with a strong African presence. The forum is considered a key meeting point for those who wish to take part in Africa’s agro-food sector growth and for those who wish to invest in the private sector.
Content
Driven by the need to discuss best practices and timely issues concerning the sustainable development of Africa’s Agricultural and Agro Industrial Sectors, as well as the need to design, plan and discuss project planning and collaborations in African agribusiness, each edition of the forum revolves around a core theme that tackles the challenges and opportunities head on.
Structure
The Forum is made up of a combination of Plenary Sessions, Technical Workshops and Pre-arranged Business-to-business Meetings.
