EMRC organised its 6th Economic Mission, for Africa-Israel Senior
Managers, from 11-15 October 2009. Many African entrepreneurs, officials and investors active in the livestock,
agriculture and import/export registered to this mission and were introduces to the newest technologies that have been developed in Israel. The programme included:
Field Visits -
Guided visits
took place in order to personally see the different agricultural and livestock
technologies that Israel has developed.
The participants discovered :
- Israeli irrigation systems which push agricultural
growth while saving water.
- Improved seeds which increase crop yields and increase
the preservation of fruits and vegetables.
- Dairy farms where developed Israeli cows produce more
than 30 litters of milk per day.
- Aquaculture: an innovative technique to ensure a
significant and sustainable supply of fish.
- Post-harvest technologies which are essential for the
preservation of fruits and vegetables and the expansion of exports to new
markets.
Personalised Business Meetings -
B2B meetings were organised with Israeli experts and
entrepreneurs with regards to the activities and projects of the
participants. EMDEVIA, beforehand,
identified the technical and financial needs of participants.
Holy Site Visits -
Israel is at the crossroads of 3 major religions:
Christianity, Judaism, & Muslim. Participants of the 6th edition of the Africa-Israel Mission visited the holy places of Jerusalem, Bethlehem and the Jordan River.
