Africa Finance & Investment Forum 2009

 


The Africa Finance and Investment Forum (AFIF) 2009 took place on the 13-15 December in the Netherlands.  The Forum focused on the strategic Role of Partnerships for Growth & Development.

Forum Highlights:

1. Over 250 delegates from Africa, Europe, USA and Asia, including:
        Financers & Bankers              
        International Financial Institutions & Donors              
        Microfinance Institutions & Project Sponsors              
        Industry Leaders, Multinationals & Cooperatives              
        SMEs, Government Officials & NGOS              
        Researchers & Int'l Organisations

2. One-on-One meetings organised between entrepreneurs and service providers/investors.

3. EMRC Project Incubator Award for innovative African projects: presented on Monday, 14 December 2009.


Objectives:

  1. Illustrate Africa’s investment needs and existing financial tools

  2. Demonstrate the success of sectors with high growth and good return on investment (ROI)

  3. Organize business meetings with investors that work with Africa

  4. Examine the private sector’s role in boosting Africa’s productivity

  5. Gather innovative projects and techniques which will be presented

  6. Display in-depth insight on successful PPP (private-public partnerships) projects

  7. Discuss joint projects between the South-South and South-North
