To encourage development, innovation and entrepreneurship in Africa, EMRC presented the Project Incubator Award to the project judged to have the greatest economic and social impact on local communities.
The Africa Finance & Investment Forum 2009 EMRC-AfDB Project Incubator Award winner was Derekorp of Uganda.
Derek Kwesiga, founder and CEO of Derekorp in Uganda, received the USD15000 EMRC-AfDB Project Incubator Award. "We, at the AfDB, hope to showcase our strategic objectives on the African continent through this competition. Furthermore, it is our utmost desire to see the winning proposal evolve into a successful sustainable business, and we commit our full support to its success."
