AgriBusiness Forum 2010



Focusing on "Food Security: a Business Opportunity” the AgriBusiness Forum 2010 was held in Kampala, Uganda from the 3rd to the 6th of October 2010 - with a record turnout of over 400 delegates from over 40 countries around the world, the core goal of promoting intracontinental and south-south business partnerships was achieved.


The AgriBusiness Forum 2010 looked at food security as an opportunity to:

  1. Boost the African agro-food sector through the design, planning, and implementation of diverse agricultural policies and projects.
  2. Debate on the role of the private sector in improving food access and increasing sustainable agricultural productivity.
  3. Improve production as well as pre and post-harvest intervention, commodities, and inputs.
  4. Attract new & strengthen existing partnerships and investments in the agri-food sector in Africa.

AgriBusiness Forum Features: 

A business to business matchmaking service was provided throughout the Forum allowing delegates with shared interests to capitalise on the networking opportunities through B2B meetings. The turnout for these meetings was unprecented, with a third room being made available for the overflow of B2B meeting requests.

Over 400 professionals from Africa, Europe, America and Asia gathered on the shores of Lake Victoria. Delegates included: industry leaders, cooperatives, SMEs, Financiers, Government Officials, NGOs, Researchers, International Organisations, Multinationals and Donors. The most recent Updates on business opportunities in the agricultural field were presented by expert speakers.
