EMRC-Rabobank Project Incubator Award 2010
To encourage development, innovation and entrepreneurship in the agro-food sector in Africa, EMRC will present the "EMRC-Rabobank Project Incubator Award" to the project judged to have the
greatest economic and social impact on local communities. Below you will find the guidelines, entry form and a sample application form available for download as well as a summary of twho can apply and the selection process.
Project Incubator Award winner of AgriBusiness 2010:
For her Bee Natural Project, Maria Odido won the amount of US$ 15,000. The project aims at processing carrot relish, carrot
and pineapple jam. Maria Odido was delighted with her award and
summed up the motivation of many of the AgriBusiness Forum participants, ‘It’s
not my job, it’s my life’.

Who Can Apply?

- Applications are limited to participants attending the Africa Finance & Investment Forum or AgriBusiness Forum
- The project must be implemented in Africa
- At least one project partner must come from and be based in Africa (there are no gender or age requirements)
- The contest is open to all sectors of economic activity related to Agro-Food or Rural Development
- The project should support farmer cooperatives or encourage their creation
- The project should contribute to the development of the local community
- The project representative and spokesperson should have good communication skills

| What is the Selection Process? |
|
- Candidates are invited to submit the application documents with their complete contact details to event Project Manager
- The pre-selected candidates present their projects during a targeted plenary session, at the Forum, to an audience of potential partners and investors from Africa, Europe, USA, India and beyond.
- The winner receives the Award during the Gala Evening of the Forum.
