Entrepreneurship Award
The EMR-Rabobank Project Incubator Award 2008 focused on spotlighing the most innovative projects coming out of Africa.
This year the award was given to Mr Yemene for his MUPECI
project in Cameroon.
Financing Soya production in Cameroon – MUPECI, Cameroon was set up to counter the insufficient local production of soya. MUPECI believes that its financing will encourage further investment and reduce the volume of imports. The project would have multiple benefits: it would re-energize an underused factory, provide stable employment to women and youngsters allowing them to remain in their rural areas, thus preventing rural exodus, while at the same time getting out of poverty.
